The officers of the club this year are as follows: Presidentelseonora Puglis Vice-President-Marjorie Ward Secretary-Rafelia Clemente Treasurer-Rita Garguilo Historian-Mamie Kalem Social functions consist of covered dish suppers and teas given tor both teachers and students, and discussions on the home. This year Mrs. Rote gave a very interesting talk on l'Clothes in War Time . As a service organization, the club helped Miss Booth with her nutrition classes. Each year the Home EC Club donates a prize of ten dollars to the high school senior receiving the highest recognition for three years of Home Economics work. A committee of teachers selects the pupil lor the prize which is given at Commencement exercises. The Club is a rather busy organization and expects to continue to be just that. The team isn't so bad as the record sounds as they lost quite a few games by close scores. The Huskies started the season with a 56-25 win over Mayfield. Cirillo, Avery and Gabe- ler scored 10, 7 and 7 points respectively. Gloversville defeated St. lohnsville 28-21 mainly due to the 12 points scored by Donnelly. St. Mary's of Amsterdam put a team of six footers on the court and nosed out GHS 17-28 on their court. Amsterdam defeated Gloversville 21-32 the following week. Ed. Donnelly led GHS with six points. GHS beat Scotia 24-18 on Estee Court on the following night. Lou Cirillo for Gloversville and Walt Iohannison for Scotia were the out- standing players of the game. Gloversville lost the first Iohnstown game 27-30 at Knox Court. Avery was high man for Gloversville, and Thompson for Iohnstown. Gloversville beat Mayfield 25-23 on a bas- ket by Gabeler in dying seconds. Lou Cirillo was tops for GHS, and Burton for Mayfield. Gloversville overcame a 12-2 lead but lost 28-34 to Nott Terrace. Avery and Gabeler with 9 and 8 points led the GHS attempt, but 18 points by Mashuta was too much. GHS lost another tough game to Iohnstown 34-37. Avery and Gabeler topped the Glovers and Colletta scored 18 points for Iohnstown. Gloversville played an exciting game only to lose in closing seconds to Mt. Pleasant 35-37. Cowboy Anderson tallied 13 points for GHS. Showing the effect of the Mt. Pleasant game the night before, GHS lost to Scotia 23-34. Gloversville lost to Nott Terrace 31-41 due mainly to Mashuta's 18 points.
