They each in their own special way fill a vital gap in a student’s work day. By choosing one of these electives, students get a chance to learn about something that is also a lot of fun. Students get the opportunity to strengthen their creative talents or just have a good time. Some may eventually choose a career related to one of these fields, and Gloucester High is a good place to prepare oneself for such a career. With dedicated and sup- portive teachers who are willing to put in that extra effort, Gloucester High has a good reputation for turning out some tru- ly gifted and well trained students. It offers a wide range of courses from physics to marine biology. The teachers work with their students closely to fully insure a complete understanding of the subject matter. The faculty, head- ed by Cliff Brooks, goes beyond the textbook to make the classes more in- teresting, often performing full three act plays while giving a lecture or doing extra experiments they know the students would enjoy. 29
