It is dedicated to providing students with not only the basic skills but also an understanding of the concepts. The teaching staff is composed of thir- teen teachers with Natalie Daley as coor- dinator of the program. The teachers go out of their way to give students support, guidance, and information necessary for life outside of the school environment. Each teacher adds his or her own special touch to the program. Through elective courses, the student teacher relationship is strengthened and students are introduced to specialized courses designed to broaden their cultural horizons. After four years in the English Department at G.H.S., students leave with a solid background which they may call upon throughout their lives. The department is a cultural asset to the surroundings in Gloucester High. It brings a distinct, in- credible feeling of developing the human tongue and mind to communicate with others in the world. An acknowledgement of different countries and their way of life accompanies the program. The teachers express their extra personal interest in their students by helping to broaden their educational goals. It is an effort that deserves an abundance of recognition and thanks.
