The excellent training given students by this department enables most students to assume jobs in the business world immediately after graduation. Other stu- dents go on to receive further education before going into the business world. Gloucester High School can boast of a well-organized and dedicated Science Department staffed by capable teach- ers Classes are offered in general science, biology, physiology, chemistry, and physics. In addition to the college prep courses, there are special classes in chemistry and physics for those wishing only a practical knowledge of those sub- jects. The Science Department also offers to seniors who are especially interested in the field of biology an advanced course in that subject. The various courses strive to encourage students to develop their reasoning power, to do more independent investigation on their own. and to become more familiar with the world in which they live.
