pedal jobs to help and auide us. at Some people do take special care of us. In school. Miss Ross takes care of our minor aches and pains and any emergencies. Miss Londergon is in charge of our fine library with its many hooks and periodicals. Miss Morton and her assistants plan and prepare that precious commodity — lunch! cS ome 6ers Ac members naue VERNON C. HOOPER Mr. Vernon C. Hooper is a fami- liar face in the third floor corri- dor, both as a floormaster and a teacher. As floormaster he helps to maintain the disciplinary stand- ards of the school ; sometimes this must he accomplished through the assignation of hours in the deten- tion hall which he and Mr. Elmer supervise each afternoon. As a teacher Mr. Hooper in- structs classes in mechanical draw- ing. We are indebted to Mr. Hoop- er for his efficient handling of all the matters under his supervision. J. VINCENT ELMER Mr. J. Vincent Elmer also holds the posi- tions of floormaster and teacher. His effi- cient manner, keen insight and understand- ing, and sense of humor have gained him the respect and admiration of the students and faculty alike. Along with his responsibilities of main- taining discipline and supervising tardiness and attendance, Mr. Elmer teaches Latin. Th is year he. is instructing students in all four years of Latin. 14

j ie publication of the C J. ficher an cf the Miss Marjorie Gale, advisor, and Susanne Lowrie, editor, approve some pictures for the FLICKER. Room 117-B becomes a beehive of ac- tivity when the Flicker is being prepared for publication. Miss Gale, as the faculty advisor, trains Susanne Lowrie and the other students working on the yearbook and helps them prepare their final copy. Many hours are spent in this room by the staff, working in hopes that the 1963 Flicker will be the best book ever. The collection of advertising and the sale of books in order to finance the publica- tion are placed in the hands of James Spit- tle and Mr. Korobkin. Jim, the student chairman, and his committee seek ads from local merchants, while Mr. Korobkin super- vises the sale of books to the underclass- men. James Spittle and Mr. Korobkin discuss yearbook sales. 16
