You are graduating into a world in which many can see only uncertainty and others can find only despair, yet you show courage, curiosity, and a perception of ad- venture ahead. Mr. Thompson attended Salem State College and went on to grad- uate work at Boston University. In 1928 he came to Gloucester High School as a teacher of bookkeeping and accounting. After one year, he was raised to the position of floor- master. Upon completion of the new high school, Mr. Thompson was the second floor supervisor until 1947, when he moved to the first floor as vice-principal. Dur- ing his years at Gloucester High School, he was also the faculty manager of athletics. In 1954 Mr. Thompson assumed the responsible position as assist- superintendent of the Glouces- public schools, and was pro- m 1962 to superintendent. Gloucester public Schools GLOUCESTER.
