I wish to extend congratulations to each one of you on the completion of high school. Sometimes you may look back longingly on your high school days. When this happens remember that the best lies in the present and the future, that the path of school days was trav- elled only to lead on to wider experiences and more satisfying successes. My best wishes to you. Margaret C. Tufts, Guidance Counselor. Sincerest congratulations on a job completed. Your extrinsic reward will be a diploma. As a piece of finely textured paper the diploma enjoys the monetary value of a few pennies. As a symbol of accomplishment and growth its value is priceless. As a certificate for me- diocracy its value must be measured in terms of your own conscience, for it is you and you alone who must provide the true meaning. Leon C. Sprague, Jr. Guidance Counselor. To the Seniors: It has been a pleasure to work with you as a class and as individual students. The place of extra-curricu- lar activities in the school I feel is important. I hope you realize that activities related to, although not a part of, your school work may prove beneficial to you after graduation. Congratulations and best wishes for your future success. Sincerely yours, Mar jorie H. Gale, Director of Extra-Curricular Activities. To the Graduating Class of 1955: The world of work and study in which you are to compete is fundamentally a good one. The journey is not always a smooth one; your sepa- rate pathways may vary, but your destination will be the same, a place in your community within the scope of your ability doing what you can do well. Nurture and improve the heritage you have received from your predecessors and will it as a legacy to your successors. Sincerely, Harold B. Geary, Director of Gloucester Vocational School.
