I'OO UC.. EAVING behind us the care free years of our school lives, we are now on the thres- hold of a more challenging and demanding period. From this point in the middle of the cen- tury we look back at the progress and the catas- trophies of the first half, which are now part of history, and forward with hope that our generation will achieve noble goals and avoid pitfalls and disasters. These pages will serve as sparks to ignite the recalling of our memories. For most of us these high school years have been a combination of work and play. Our achievements now loom larger than our defeatsg our irrepressible gaiety and joyous laughter overshadow our sor- rows and tragedies. From this book we hope all will in the future evoke the pleasant mem- ories of our high school days.

MAHONEY 1946 - 1949 10 William Mahoney, a former member of the Gloucester High School English Department who died on October 1, 1949, this 1950 Flicker is humbly dedicated. During Mr. Mahoneyls three years at our school We admired his sincere and sympathetic nature, his geniality, his keen sense of humor, and his accurate judgment. Mr. Mahoney's outstanding quality, however, was service to others. Through this dedication We hope to express our sincere gratitude for all that Mr. Mahoney did for us While he was at Gloucester High School.
