Pkp Co v Know it or not we have our own predetermined zones. These zones, such as drama, math, and history class, are put to good use on into life. Becoming active members of the community is our goal, and to do this we need background in many subjects. There are some zones we aren’t allowed in such as the teachers’ center and lounge, but sooner or later we will conquer them also. So we go into our zones for action with our classes, friends, hockey, yearbooks, and life. If carried out correctly many people think that zoning will be an advantage to businessmen and home owners. Zoning keeps junk yards and apart¬ ment complexes away from commercial areas. Zoning pre¬ vents the values of homes from dropping because of busi¬ nesses. Also, very few people want to go through a 35 mph residential area to get to a store. Zoning helps communi¬ ties grow and prosper in the right proportion. Zoning stops people from selling their land to whomever they want. Also, if you own a piece of land that is zoned for business you can’t build a house there. This interferes with the rights of citizens and could be referred to as a defense against the constitu¬ tion. Although this statement seems out of proportion to many people, there are still those for whom freedom is an issue. Mrs. Flowe fixes Mr. Raynes’ hair for the in look? Is this the group zoned for Beta? Robin Lewis THINKS! The remains of an inspiring summer in the yearbook room.

Qk d Imm : Just as the county is divided by a broad strip of asphalt called Rt. 17, it is also divided by the controversial topic of zoning. Community topics like zoning are even hotly dis¬ cussed in some classrooms, but the lively folks at G.H.S. know that Short Lane is zoned for action: action in the parking lot, in the hallways, in the classrooms, in the court yard, on the football field, on the hockey field, in the drama pit, and in the music suite. Every¬ where students rush to club meetings, to soccer practice, to class for a quiz, and to lunch! Mr. Hirschberg and other faculty members invade the library. New businesses have made zones of their own. Mrs. Pointer and Mrs. Keenan have zoned themselves for guidance. David Birdsall and Shelia Kendrik seem to have different opinions of this classroom zone. 4

Wkett’s uv Lee Vogub This year at Gloucester High the fashions are like any and every other place in the world. Students as well as teachers desire to indulge in the some¬ times expensive hobby of fash¬ ion. The latest, the latest . . . big collarless tops with vest and ties. The straight leg pants and low shoes are back, too. Not only do students wear these fashions, but express their own personality. So what’s in La Vogue for this year; the G.H.S. look! Ms. Russell and Delores Dixon have taken up modeling? FASNtON 6
