Foreword “Success is gained only by those who seek it.” This is the motto of the graduating class of Nineteen Hundred Sixty-Six, and its true value will be determined by each member of the class in the ensuing years. All will take with them the memories of hard work, the many friendships, the various teachers, the amusing times, and the many diverse activities; but each will also apply the education acquired at Gloucester City High School. It is the sincerest wish of all those associated with this publica- tion to present the ’66 BLUE AND GOLD with the hope that the fond memories and the unforget- table experiences will be recalled in the minds of those who, in the fu- ture, page through it. Gloucester City High School PEOPLE AND FACES ■ . . told va they’d catch us. Bud! I’ll take one of these and . . . Happiness is eating an ice cream sandwich! I thought I was right?! Has anyone seen Mr. Bracken? An interesting faculty meeting. m I’d like to brush after meals, but I just can’t! ADVICE AND CONSENT Dedication The Class of 1966 wishes to express its deep appreciation to the members of the Guidance Department for their service to the students of Gloucester City High School. Our counselors have listened pa- tiently to our problems and have given ns sound advice. They have helped us through our high school years and have guided us to the selection of our future vocation, whether in industry or in the service of our country, and helped us to prepare for college. For their warm atti- tude, advice, and loyal service to us, we dedicate the 1966 BLUE and GOLD in their honor. Miss Alice M. Costello graduated from Gloucester Catholic High School and later earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from Seton Hall College. She is also an alumna of Villanova University, where she received a Master of Arts Degree. She is a dedi- cated worker in the Guidance Office, inter- viewing and counseling members of the Sophomore Class. Besides her official duties, she has long been the faculty sponsor of the Future Nurses Club, guiding many of our girls toward a rewarding career. Miss Costello formerly taught at Gloucester Catholic High School before coming here as a member of the Science Department. 6 Mr. Frank Keebler is an alumnus of our own Gloucester City High School. He at- tended Glassboro State College where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree and began his career here at Gloucester City High School as a teacher of mathe- matics. As the adviser to the Senior Class he has been a diligent worker, doing his best to insure our future success. Along with many other duties, he has been the faculty sponsor of the Ice Skating Club. Mr. Francis P. Loeber graduated from Northeast Catholic High School. He re- ceived a Bachelor of Arts Degree from La Salle College and later attended Villanova University Graduate School where he re- ceived a Master of Arts Degree. Let us remember that educa- tion is the turnpike of opportunity in America. I dare you to travel that turnpike with an active mind and with direction in your lives. Congratulations to each and every one of you for reaching this milestone of accomplishment. Thomas W. Sykes Ed. D. Superintendent BOARD OF EDUCATION Dr. Thomas Sykes. Richard Hnhhs. Wilber Woodhull.
