DAILY JOURNAL PRESIDENT ACCLAIMS ENGINEERING FEAT President, Robert Luker, today ac- cloimed the invention of two struggling young engineers as a boon to civiliza- tion. Engineers George Thompson and Charles Wamsley designed and invented a revolutionary new type bridge. De- tails have not yet been made public, but this invention is sure to change the whole industry of bridge building. SEVEN COUPLES CELEBRATE WEDDING ANNIVERSARY WITH COMBINED CELEBRATION Today, seven couples celebrated their wedding anniversary with a combined dinner. Among those present was the famous interior decorator, Edith Thomp- son. Guest speaker of the day was the well known army nurse, Barbara Ols- son. Among the others present were Pauline Tamer, Marlene Hildebrandt, Eva Virtue, and Eva Mae Rudolph who lust gave up an important position with the North American Aviation Corpora- tion.
