The stu- dents participated in govern- ment by setting up mock state and local governments in an imaginary 51st state. The boys attended N.A.U. at Flagstaff while the girls attended U. of A. at Tucson. This citizen- ship education is accomplished by the members learning basic democratic methods and proce- dures, and then by allowing for application of those principles to problems that interest and .challenge the council members involved. Her senior year she was Secretary-Treasurer of the Society, Elks' Nov. Student of the Month, and Wigwam Editor. As a jun- ior she was inducted into the National Honor society, selected for the Wig- wam Staff, and placed in the upper 10' of the State Math Test. Her participa- tion in the Rotary Club's demonstra- tion of the Human digestive tract highlighted her sophomore year.
