Valedictorian Mike Ytterberg challenged both his fellow graduates and people in general to begin to behave as rational, thinking human beings. He describes men as living, aware, conceiving, discriminatory, imaginative creatures. Unless people begin to act rationally, mankind will cease to exist. Mike playing ‘‘La C a t h e-d r a I e Englon-tie” at Baccalaureate. Marianne Challis accompanied by Judy Cook contributed to the solemnity of Baccalaureate with “A Prayer.” Susan Fischer accompanying Judy Cook-“Concertino”

Superintendent William D. Hovey, School Board President Chas. Chapin, Rev. Merlyn Wagner, and Principal Donald Kauerauf. Rev. Merlin Schendel inspired the Baccalaureate audience with his “three steps to successful living.” He pointed out that “man will not endure only . .. but will prevail,” since man has added strengths when necessity demands. Salutatorian Bob Brown paid tribute to parents and faculty for their past help but pointed out that from this point forward the graduates must accept the challenge and move onward. Lilou Obrier joins her classmates in preparing for Commencement.
