SUPERINTENDENT Congratulations! to the Publications Staff upon the successful completion of the 1970 issue of SPYGLASS. Thank you for this opportunity to offer the graduating seniors some practical and philosophical advice for fulfillment of their personal dreams and goals. Our efforts have been aimed at providing you with the opportunity to participate in a balanced variety of challenging activities from which you can build a solid background. It is my hope that you will continue your education through every resource at your command. Perhaps one should remember that the truly successful men and women of the world first mastered themselves before they tried to master business, government, the law, or whatever fields their personal dreams lead them to. They learned what is probably the most profound truth men have discovered in the history of organized society—that the truly successful men or women must be able to get along with other people. With the population explosion you will have to get along with other people. So develop a sense of brotherhood—a true interest in your fellowman. It has been a pleasure having been associated with you through your graduation. I feel sure Glenwood will continue to feel proud of you as you make progress along life’s path. 7

PRINCIPAL Congratulations to ti class of 1970. Young people entering the adult world must face the challenge of preserving their heritage and causing justifiable change in our society. These changes will only come about when young people are able to present workable solutions. Graduates, continue your education and prepare your minds so that you will be able to furnish the leadership necessary in the coming years. People become leaders only when they have the knowledge that will gain the respect of others. Mrs. Betty McCord Mrs. Loveta Manning 8
