At the opening of the 1946 fall school term there appeared at the portals of Glen- wood, ninety-one lively boys and girls whose goal was to graduate in 1950. We began our Freshman year with the election of Lomeda Schmid, president, Odie Fisher, vice president, Don Sexton, secretary and treasurer. Our advisors at the end of the year were Mrs. Caudill and Mrs. Kapps. Our Freshman Homecoming attendant was Anna Laura Floyd. Then came vacation and we took leave of GHS to return in the fall as sophomores. The following officers led our Sophomore class of seventy-two: Oscar Emshwiller, president, Carl Neu, vice presidentgMarvin Bowling, secretary, lviarcella Emshwiller, treasurer, and Richard Barnes, reporter. Our faculty advisors were Miss Mitchell and Mr. Duncan. The sophomore boys received a trophy for being the winners of class tournaments. 10 IIIASS Our Sophomore Homecoming attendant was Ruth Thompson. Class officers for our Junior Year were: Richard Barnes, president, Donna Sheridan, vice president, Lomeda Schmid, secretary and treasurer, and reporter, Charles Pauley. They were aided by our advisors, Mrs. Campbell and Mr. Washington. Two events far overshadowed all others in our .Tunior year. The first was our class play, 'The Night Was Dark. The cast con- sisted of: Donna Sheridan, David Staten, Carol Weaver, Ray Montgomery, Don Sexton, Mary Jo Stapleton, Ruth Thompson, lvlarcella Emsh- willer, Lomeda Schmid, Darrell Williams, Charles Pauley, and Nate Phipps. The di- rectors were Mrs. Campbell and Mrs. Fluty. Student directors were Patty Williams and Roberta Holsinger. The second was the Junior-Senior Banquet at the Lake White Club. The theme for our Banquet was Circus ,
