It is a break in the daily routine which gives nourishment, both mental ana' physical, to continue the day in tip-top shape. For some it is a time of relaxation or fun, for others it is another chance to catch up on an assignment or last minute brushing-up for a test. One can take in an intramural game, visit the library, get a breath of fresh air on the mall, or participate in the most popular pastime- a gab session.

A strange combination of reading, writing, and disciplining goes on within the walls of a study hall. Teachers get a work-out patrolling the aisles, keeping talk to a minimum, and reminding the students of the study hall's purpose-to study! Most of the student body cooperates in upholding this noble purpose, but violators insist on including talking, tic-tac-toe, and naps.
