A CAPPELLA Ambition seems to be the keyword in the vocabulary of Glenwood's music department. Determination and many hours of hard but enjoyable work led to the first annual Autumn Festival of Song. The audience was delighted not only with the variety and quality of the music, but with the beautiful robes paid for from the proceeds of the ,concert. Recordings of Christmas music by the chorus were broadcast over two local radio stations on December 21 and 24. February 22 saw our choir taking part in the Stark County Music Festival. Finally, the entire student body was inspired by the beautiful choruses sung at the Easter chapel. Congratulations to a fine group for a wonderful year. 90

PIANIST: Karen Ulmer. Mr Hamilton, vocal director The ingredients which go into the making of fine music are, first, a pleasant song, then a good director, and, finally, a group of people who love to sing. Glenwood was especially lucky this year because the girls' chorus had all of these requirements. The girls exhibited their lovely harmony in the Autumn Festival of Song and again in the Christmas recordings heard over the radio. The girls' ensemble gained a great deal of experience for the county vocal music contest by singing for various club meetings throughout the area. All these girls have found that chorus is more than just hard work . . . it is fun and enjoyment of the truly beautiful things in life. vfliiifiif llffNil5Heil!35iiiifWlifiliZ..i?3TL3fl'r3394i?56i5v S397r15?!viE'iisea. i?H1isf'L :?l:53:EiSL9?i'iQ?'WE5i36Lf:?i?
