TOP ROW Mlss Boddy Koepsell Starr Flemlng Wlsner Debate The 61st half of the debate season was devoted to extemporaneous debatmg on such questlons as l esolved That the Unlted States should recognlze Russxa and the state questlon Resolved That the Unlted States should adopt the Br1t1sh System of Radlo Control and Operatxon Our extemporaneous scheduled lncluded such schools as Hammond Baldwm Hudson Amery Stlllwater and New Rlchmond The final contest was held at New Richmond on Decemb r 9 and Glenwood vson a declslon agamst Stlll vt atel one of the wlnners Due to the lncapaclty of one member of the debate squad and because four of the debaters were out for the first year we partlclpated after Chrlstmas ln only a pre season non declslon state contest Thls mcluded such schools as Chxppewa Falls and Menomome Next year we hope to have an exper lenced team and therefore be able to w1n somethmg ln the State contest At the Parent Teacher Assoclatlon four of the debaters took part ln a farce debate Resolved That lt IS better to be a little frog ln a blg pond than a blg frog ln a llttle pond In order to earn money for our annual plcture the entlre squad presented several playlets for a pay assembly THE DEBATE TEAM ' Afflrrnatxve Negatlve Alex Plemlng Fwald Koepsell Orval Starr Dorls Kroger Mary Johnston Harrlet Koberstem 1' . lf - yi , 2 1 , .
