He came to Glenville on September 1, 1966, also as an English teacher. He became a counselor at Glenville on August 25, 1969. He assisted many students who sought his help with academic concerns. Mr. Wise was said by his co-workers to have enjoyed his work. The loss is not to the students helped by Mr. Wise, but to those who will not be helped by him. COUNSELOR Dear Seniors, Now that you have graduated and are out in that wide world of work or enrolled Vn further educational endeavors you have a unique opportunity to provide a service for those who follow you. We were one of three clubs nominated for a community relations award by the Urban League for services performed throughout the year. On April 5, 1986, 12 Big Buddies for Cleveland were invited to attend the Urban League Annual Luncheon including Tamara Gardner and Steven Lanfair of Glenville. The Little Buddy Big Buddy Clubs won the award and are very proud of themselves. The club at Glenville has had time for a few activities. This year we have taken our little buddies to the coliseum to see Walt Disney's Magic Kindom on Ice. We had an Easter Egg Hung; an Easter basket was the prize for the person who found the golden egg. We also had a bake sale to help raise money for future activities. The 1985-86 school year is coming to a close, so if you are a 10th or 11 grade student who would like to help a youngster get his her life off to a good start, Ms. Appling, the club advisor, will be looking forward to seeing you soon. Clenvllle will be mostly push button and slot machines. There will be moveable stairs and hallways. The classroom doors will be electric and will slide open whenever someone walks up to them. The teachers will be almost the same. Mr. Wohlken will now be known as Astro Atonya Fullerton Wolf. Miss Llemex's nuclear powered broomstick, and hor effervescent hair, will be terrorizing Clenville's halls with her laser gun, vaporizing troublesome students into outer space. Mr. Bowers, who recently found out that Cargamcl is his long, lost twin brother, was so happy to find out the news that he packed up his computer, gathered up all his records from the radio room, turned in his retirement papers, and set forth with his brother on a long Journey through the stars in order to catch-up with old times. In 200.1, Clenvllle will still be excellent in sports. Miss Taylor has now made a fortune coaching and lives in a pent house on cloud nine. The football team finally made it to the Solar Super Bowl, and the basketball team is now the best in the universe. They arc scheduled to play the Astro Clobc Trotters. The cafeteria food will be no more. Instead, th Board of solarcatlon invent a different kind of foo pills. The students' lunc still doesn't have any tast but the pills stuff t . students. Rutigliano was invited to our school by the P. T. A. and the Glenville Building Guidance Committee, for the purpose of speaking to the students on the evils of drug abuse. Rutigliano, told the students at the assembly about several football players and people he knew who abused drugs, he told hew their lives were controlled by drugs and how the drugs practically destroyed them. He is concerned, for he has children and he knows how important everything is to them. He doesnot want, everything that we, as teenagers, hold important to vanish, because of drugs. At, the end of his talk Mr. Rutigliano was well applauded. The emcees of the assembly were Rodney Lewallen, with the opening remarks; Ms. Watts and Celest Jackson, with the closing remarks. Mr. Notkke and the choir performed the Alma Mater. Date: May 13, 1986 To: Faculty Staff Re: Senior Government Day Once again Senior Government Day was a success.
