DEDICATION During our years at GIcnville, our class has always depended upon the experienced guidance of our adviser, Miss Melba Benson. Understanding, patient, and calm, she always knew of a solution to our problems, no matter how difficult they were. In our adviser, we found a friend as well as a teacher—a friend who was never too busy to say hello to us in the hall or talk with us for a few minutes. When tempers were hot, when opinions were divided, and when it seemed as though we were at an impasse, she was always there, helping us smooth over our difficulties and bringing us together once more. Therefore, we, the June class of 1953, dedicate this book to Miss Melba R. Benson, whose guidance we ll never forget. MISS MELBA BENSON Class Adviser A MESSAGE TO THE CLASS The eighteen years which cover the life of the members of this class has seen changes in the application of science to industry, transportation, medicine, and living which surpass the changes during the generations in the past. It is probable that this rate of change will continue and perhaps increase. High school graduates will need to continue their education to keep abreast with developments about them. In the midst of these constant changes we recognize those phases of living which are continuous and unchanging. The homely virtues of honesty, industry, sincerity, and friendliness are no less important than they were in the past. DR. ARTHUR T. CARR Principal

THEY HELPED US GROW How could our tree have grown to such majestic heights without the help of our faithful officers! We will always remember . . . BILLY GIBSON, for his untiring efforts and guidance in behalf of our class. SAUNDRA MALEVAN, for her continuous leadership in orientation programs. VELLA RUDNICK, for her thoroughly organized records of all class activities. CAROL KOHN, for her energetic and persistent collections of class dues. CORRINE HALPER, for her well-planned, enjoyable class affairs and programs. We, the June class of 1953, will never forget our officers for their hard work during our three years at Glenville. It is for this reason that we thank them now, for helping us grow. Page 6
