1 Science Department Offers The Science Department was espe- cially exciting this year. In addition to courses in Earth Science, Chemis- try, Physics and three types of Biolo- gy, they had a new program for se- niors titled Senior Investigation. Se- nior Investigation was a course that offered a greater knowledge in sci- ence. Seniors were able to choose what sort of science they would like to study. The science students at Glenvar High were very fortunate in having an area to study besides the classroom. This area was called an environmental study area which consisted of many things, First of all, OIC J there were over two miles of trails. These trails were contained in a wooded area of thirty miles. There was an outdoor classroom located in the woods. This was used for lec- tures and demonstrations. In this area there were many small animals and plants represented. This area gave the student a chance to learn, study, and relax in comfort. There were many extracurricular activities that were involved with the Science Department. Some of there activities included field trips and science com- petitions such as the Science Fair.

I dealt with the fundamentals of distribution and was designed to acquaint students with the many ca- reers in distributive business in the community. In D.E. Il the students learned about studies in marketing, and D.E. Ill dealt with advanced studies in marketing. Distributive Education students received an insight to their needs and abilities.
