i JOHN W. CANADAY Prexident ' Board of Education Noi pictured: Robert S. Buddy, Russell M. L. Carson Page Twelve I Odl' 6,JbLCCltl0l'l Frank A. Conlin Clerk of the Board CONGRATULATIONS TO THE CLASS OF 1951: Although the duties of the Board of Education are primarily the establishing of school policy and the raising of money to properly con- duct the schools, we have enjoyed having the opportunity to follow the progress of the classes from year to year. We are indeed proud of the record your class has made. Your accomplishments are recorded in the pages of this Red and Black and amply speak for themselves. Much time has been devoted this year to the many problems and details constantly arising in connection with the construction of the new high school building. Work has progressed very satisfactorily in spite of difliculties associated with material shortages and a memorable wind storm which did considerable damage during the early stages of con- struction. We regret that the Class of 1951 has not been able to enjoy the facilities of the new building, but you will have the distinction of being the last class to graduate from the high school on Glen Street. All members of the Board of Education join me in extending best wishes for success to you, the Class of 1951, in the years ahead. JOHN W. CANADAY, Preridenz J- Carlewn Liddlf- Board of Education J. TO THE CLASS OF 1951: Congratulations on the completion of your high school course. Future classes will have the advantages of a new building, but your class can point back to older traditions, perhaps more intimate asso- ciations, and certainly more distinct echoes Your school life in Glens Falls has been an opportunity to live and learn. May this expe- rience prove to be a suitable foundation for citizenship in our free country. ALIsx4NDER W. MILLER, Superintendent of School: Della McAlley Mrs. Dorothy F. Hughes Mrs. Viola B. Your life in this building has been a never-to-be- forgotten experience. I hope that as you leave and join the alumni group you will take with you a fondness for the memories of the past and a pride, not only in that past, but in the future of the school as well. As we move into our new home, we want you to feel that you are as much a part of the new Glens Falls High School as you were of the old. Speaking for the faculty, I extend congratulations and best wishes. WILLIAM H. BROWN, Principal Page Thirteen ,, 3 a
