ADRIANCE Class Advisor 99125-.25 COMMENCEMENT PAGEANT The World of Books Two seniors, Bill and Betty, struggling with an assignment in literature, bemoan their fate at having to do so much required reading in English. They fall asleep over their reading. In their dream Mark Twain appears to justify the place that Tom Sawyer holds in the curriculum. Thereupon he takes Bill and Betty on a tour of the world of books. From the books Bill and Betty have been required to read in school step the authors and characters to recall to the seniors the enjoyment they took in the books at the time they read them. Scenes from the stories appear before Bill's and Betty's eyes. When they awake, they admit that their complaints about literature were a pose. They now have a new conception of how the world of literature has enriched their lives and opened up new horizons of reading to explore the future. PAGEANT COMMITTEE MR. JOHN L.
