The newly formed Stamp Club deals with the trading and collecting of stamps. Several guest speakers come in to tell members about their collec- tions and to give helpful hints about collecting. Auctions are sometimes held where members can pick up stamps at a bargain price and also at the same time make money by selling doubles in the auction. The Stamp Club also planned a field trip to the post office. Whether your a beginner or a veteran at collecting stamps all are welcomed to the Stamp Club. Sitting: Jamie Snowden. John Sanders. 'TAMP GlLUSS Friends Abroad is a club aimed at the study of foreign countries and customs. One of their main ac- tivities of the year was the celeb- ration of the Swedish Sankta Lucia during the Christmas sea- son.  The Pride organization is the pep club of GlenOak High School. It s purpose is to inspire spirit and pride throughout the school and com- munity by making signs and actively supporting all sports, clubs, ac- tivities. and events. The ultimate goal of our organization is for all stu- dents and faculty members to be proud they are part of GlenOak High School. All students are eligible to join and meetings are held after school and on the first Saturday of the month. Pride members also work on spirit week and decorate the schools for special occasions. Y-Teens is a girl’s club which is sponsored by the YWCA and is linked in three Canton high schools. The club gives girls the opportunity to conduct service projects, sponsor social ac- tivities, and participate in informative programs. Activities in- cluded service projects such as visiting a nursing home to Christmas carol and programs with experts in various fields such as hairstyling, disco dancing, karate, and make-up appli- cation. Club is a social and service orga- nization for juniors and seniors. Service projects during the year give us the opportunity to be contributing community members. Two of our major projects have been serving as hostes- ses at the annual Kris Krindle Mart at the Cul- tural Center and visiting the patients at Windsor Medical Center. Socially we have enjoyed a fall picnic, a Christmas progressive dinner, and our annual spring picnic. The Strategy and Tactics Clubs draws a unique cross section of students, faculty, and even the general public of Plain Local. People who have been chess fans for years find strategy games, war games, and computer games mentally invigorating. It sets mind against mind in a most com- prehensible setting of invasion, logis- tics, tactics. and finance. It is not game playing: it is an experience. Besides weekly meetings there is school and city wide tournaments. 239
