But at the same time to have fun working together and to share our ideas with each other. L, qi. - 'Ar T .F.L. The National Forensic League offers students the opportunity to practice their speaking skills at weekly tourmaments. Students speak competitively in such areas as extemporaneous, oral in- terpretation, original oration, humorous dramatic, and de- bate. The NFL's goal include giving experience and instill- ing confidence in the speaker. The National Forensic League had a candy sale for their major project. The rofits were used to send the - Zi' ' .L V... 1-!fl' 5 . - -Tl P students to the Pittsburgh Central Tournament and for other functions of the club. The cornpetive season for GlenOak has been a success- ful one. The climax of the season was the state tourna- ment at Cincinatti Princeton in March. Several state qual- ifiers made the trip. Y Machine Shop, a club comprised of both junior and senior members, enables Glen- Oak students to learn the skills necessary to loperate complex machinery for the production of metal parts. There are two classes in machine shop that the students attend: One is called related, which is a classroom, and the other is lab, where the knowledge obtained in related is applied to the operation of machines. Activity is not restricted to the school, for the junior members have gone on field trips to the Ford Motors Division, Excel and Holton Machinery.
