Home of The Hawks 1977 IMAGES GLENN HIGH SCHOOL Birmingham, Alabama EDITOR May the 1977 Images reflect fond memories for you, for years to come. As time goes by you will remember many things; but, we believe the happiest of these will be your high school days at Glenn High. Memories should always be captured and painted most precious in our history. My primary goal this year was to cover as many events that are memorable about Glenn 1977 as possible. I feel that I have accomplished this goal. I hope you will notice new things within this book. With my heart, I wish to express gratitude to the staff members who worked so earnestly to help complete this edition. Words cannot state how thankful I am to have worked with a group that is as talented and industrious as this staff is. 2 DEDICATION There are no words that can describe him or his characteristics. He is one of a kind! Mr. Simpson Berry, Jr. is an exceptional man. Even though sometimes he's pushed for time, there's always that fraction of a minute to listen to our problems. So, to our devoted principal, we present this token of love. 3 Annual Staff Do you know where you're going to, do you like the things that life is showing you, where are you going to. Do you know? Do youget what you're hoping for, when you look behind you there's no open door, what are you hoping for? Once we were standing still in time, chasing the fantasies that filled our minds. You knew I loved you but my spirit was free, laughing at the questions that you once asked of me. 7 Veronica Fosier Larry Ghamburger GENIOR Veronica Foster Now looking back at all the past, we let so many dreams just slip through our hands. Why must we wait so long before we see, how sad the answers to those questions can be. 11 Michael Anthony Twyla McGhee F A V 0 R I T E S Janice Blackwell Tyrone Williams Charles Gordon Bondra Beales S 0 P H 0 M 0 R E F A V 0 R I T E S Aileen Brown Rodney Holt Do you know where you're going to. It may be he shall take my hand And lead me into his dark land And close my eyes and quench my breath - It may be I shall pass him still. I have a rendezvous with Death On some scarred slope of battered hill, When Spring comes round again this year And the first meadow-flowers appear. God knows ’twere better to be deep Pillowed in silk and scented down, Where love throbs out in blissful sleep. Pulse nigh to pulse, and breath to breath, But Tver a rendezvous with Death At midnight in some flaming town: When Spring trips north again this year, And I to my pledged word am true, I shall not fail that rendezvous.
