(Cy SS) ea SCI ? . twas a long hard struggle but.” As the curtain opened it was the fall of ‘50 and the new Glenn had begun to take shape and grow from a dream into a reality. Although our building was only half completed and we had neither heat, windows, nor doors we did have a fine faculty and student body. The second act whizzed by and as juniors we began to feel our importance and to take an active part in school activities. The main event of that year, of course, was the Junior-Senior Banquet, which we worked for so diligently. But all the hard work was not in vain for never in our lives had we been to anything so much like a dream. The curtain rose for the last time on a scene of bustling activity. As the days began to fly by, we crowded each hour with work to be finished before graduation—the annual to get off, newspaper reports, exams, homework, but even so we took time off to go to near-by homes to watch the inauguration on teievision—for ball games and school. parties. At Christmas we were sorry to lose our sponsor Mrs. Reavis, but warmly welcomed our new one, Mrs. King. Two big events came our way in the spring. The first being our senior play “The Campbells Are Coming,” in which we were given a chance to show our acting ability and make a little money on the side. The second was the banquet given in our behalf by the juniors. We left the banquet with sad but grateful hearts. As our school days neared the close, we looked back on them and wished that we could relive each episode. What fun it had been! The last scene found us at our Baccalaureate Sermon feeling very sad. Then before we realized, it was graduation night and we were walking across the stage to receive our diplomas and telling our friends good-bye. And the curtain fell on a phase of our lives—one that will always hold memories. 13
