Class Prophecy I have been a resrdent of Texas now for near ten years My husband rs one of the rrch orl rnen of the country The other mornrng I awoke wrtn the feelrng sometnrng strange was about to happen I was so amaaed when rt really drd I went to the marlbox and there was a let er tellrng of a reunron wrth my old classmates Well I was excrted and hurrredly I pack cd my furs and other valuables and set off for good old Glenmont Ohro Well the day of the reunron I slrpped rnto one of my black slrnky gowns but decrded rt wa not very approprra e Then I slrpped rnto my rrdrng brrtches but drscovcred they were wearrng thrn from my many Jaunts wrth my many horses I fr rally decrded on a neat gray lrnen surt w1th prnl accessorres The day began wrth the sun shrnrng brrghtly It was a gorgeous day for a prcnrc Why I hadn t seen the gang for ten long years and when Barbara Scott was tne frrst to arrrve I nearly trrpped over my sprke heels gettrng to her She looked as we say rn Texas real gone ' She was qurte a success rt seems Barbara always had a secret desrre to be a nurse and so after graduatrng she ook up nursrng Sne spent the next three years rn school Af ter graduatrng from nursrng school she spent a year rn a Crty Hosprtal out west Then she up and Jorned the U S Army Nurses Corps There she served about frve years travelrng all over the world wrth her husband who s a captarn rn the Arr Force Workrng hard and yet enjoyrng herself Barbara spent her free trme srngrng to the wounded veterans rn hosprtals all over the world She rs lookrng great from rt The next person to arrrve was my dear pal Janet I was srmply amazed as she told her story It seems for many ,fears she struggled to become a successful bus1ness prrvate secretary Let me tell you she really made the grade too Her hus band, who rs now President of the Unrted States as you probably know always lrked krds and janet drd too Her krds seemed to lrke her too because of her sunny drsposrtron Well you heard about ne new burldrng berng burlt onto the Whrte House grounds' That happens to be a prrvate orphanage for Ianet and the President S krds As I already stated hey lrke kros Let s see oh yesl There s Peggy Nommay I talked to her and rt seems she fulfrlled her greatest ambrtron To be nurse She went to Mt Vernon Catholrc School of Nursrng and later moved to Calrfornra where she rs a professronal nurse She has four sweet chrldren and a wonderful husband I am sure she s a wonderful nurse' Whrle I was talkrng to her she caught her frnger on her purse .crpper and cut rt When she saw the blood she farnted dead away As I sard she s a good nurse I also talked to Carolyn Morrrs Carolyn made qurte a brg trme rn her years Remember how she always hated blrnd dates ? ? 'P Well, she went to New York to try her luck at berng a comedrenne srnger Well one nrght after rehersal her close frrend, also a srnger coaxed Carolyn on a blrnd date Well Carolyn tell head over neels when she saw hrm and was drzzy for weeks afterwards They made qurte a couple, and they decrded to try marrred lrfe Later rt drdn t go so well when he started makrng fun of her srngrng Carolyn got so confused that her mrnd wouldn t functron So she sued for a drvorce and S100 OUO alrmony on grounds of mental cruelty She s been f1ne srnce she came home to the farm and cows Next rn lrne was Bob Krnsey You ve probably heard all about hrm by now Remember how ne was always clownrng a round? It seems rt S fO110Wed him around all th OUQhO'-lf lrfe Bob upon graduatrng went to college but only frnrshed one year Then he and a frrend Jorned the navy He used to spend hrs free trme mockr g Jerry Lewrs for hrs fellow crewmembers Well, one day a talent scout happened to spot Bob and srgned hrm up to OKR contracts and now Instead of mockrng Jerry Lewrs he rs competrng agarnst h1m ' Then I spotted Shrrley Martrn I hadn t seen her for absolutely ages She Jorned the Wacs and on her frrst leave she was marrred to a fellow rn a nerghborrng vrllage here Then they spent the next few years travelrng over the country as ne rn army lrfe Now they have settled to rarsrng therr own lrttle trooper Next was Rrchard Martrn He s strll the same guy he always was Qurte a guy He jorned tne army and lrked well he made a career of rt He made the grade and became a major I always knew he d make a leader rnstead of a follower cause he has the power rn hrs Jaws and that s what rt takes rn army lrfe Belreve me, hrs men are on tne ball ' Oh say there s Robert Cooper He rs strll a drstrngurshed lookrng gent now It seems after graduatrng Bob went to Ohro State Unrversrtv Upon graduatrng from O S U he was so smart that he took over the professors Job and he rs now the top man at O S U Good luck Bob' Then, of course there s Mrlly She was always a lrttle drfferent from us folks It seems upon graduatrng she went to Kent State to become a hrgh school teacher She was so engrossed rn her work she for once forgot to look for a guy Now she s gettrng gray from the worrres of her teen age students But belleve me she s strll lookrng very ambrtously Of course, everyone remembers Carole Mellor Well she marrred that fellow from Mt Vernon and she got a Job rn a Dept Store She lrk d rt so well hat she became very enthused about the busrness that before long she had all the ousrness rn Mt Vernon And so Carole upon one of ner brarn storms, bought all the stores out and started a charn store busrness Of course you must know, she became top Busrness Manager of the busrness and rs a very busy gal Then, last but not least there s Irm Norrrs He s a great sport enthusrast At frrst he trred actrng, but rt got hrm down Because of the part rn our senror play fremembe-r'7 'P ? ? ? ?D he really thought that he had rtl It seems he drdn t though So he turned to sports Thrs trme he made the grade He trred track because hrs form allows hrm the grace of runnxng He be ame so good he won the All Star Track Award rn the U S A and rs competrng now rn the World Olymprcs Wonder rf he w1ll make rt 'PV Good Luck, Jrm'l Well, that rs the account of my class reunron I sure hope you emoyed rt as much as I But rt s gettrng late now and I must catch my trarn back to Texas So I ll say au revorr CGood byelll Erleen Krnsey . . . . .
