Class History There we were brg erghth graders Never thought we would make rt Thrs was a big move rn our llves Robert Cooper was our presldent Carole Mellor vrce presrdent Barbara Scott, Secretary, and Robert Kln sey treasurer Rooert Cooper was chosen to represent,Our school ln the Natronal Spellrng Bee, whrch was held ln A-tron, Ohro At tne end of the year, our class too-t a trlp to Columbus Mr Kersnner, Mr Bash, ard Mrs McClure accompanred us CRemember wnat happened at tnt, monkey house ' ll Flnally we became Freshmen who wandered arou rd as rf we were lost Mar,aret Nommay was our presrdent, Carolyn Morrls, vrce presldent, and Barbara Scott was elected secretary and treasurer Several too-t part rr tne Declamatlon Contest It was our flrst year for puolrc speakrng We were very enthused and also very scared Erlecn Kmsey, Carole Mellor, a rd Robert Cooper represented our class rn the Scnolarshlp Tests, whlch were grven at Wooster Another lmportant event rn our freshman year was our rnrtratron Ne were rnltrated by the Sophomores who gave us a very rough tune A last, as Sophomores, we were begmnlng to feel as though we were a part of Glenmont I-Ixgh School Our presloent for thrs year was Carole Mellor our vrce presrdent, Barbara Scott, secretary, Erleen K1 rsey, and Robert Krnsey treasurer Erlecn Krnsey Carole Mellor, and Ianet Faler represented our school rn the Typrng Contest, whlch was neld at Walnut Creek Barbfra Scott entered the poetry contest, at Walnut Creek that year She also was ln the Declam atlon Contest To 'nake our year a lrttle more lnterestrng , we had a class prcnrc, at Wooster park We also vrsrted t e the Wooster Skateland Remember that gang 'P Carole Mellor, Erleen Krnsey, and Robert Cooper represented our class rn the Scholarsh1p Tests, whrch were held at Wooster At last we became Iunrors Tnrs was tne year we were always busy We were mterested rn maklng all the money we possrbly could because we were lookmg forward to a Senror Class Trrp and rn order to be able to accomplrsh thrs, we had to work We sold magazrnes at the begmnrng of the year Margaret Nommay and Ianet Faler recelved certrfrcates for sellrng the most We also sold refreshments at the ballgames Thrs was qulte a Job Every year the Jumor Class 15 to sell candy at noon lhrs was our vear and was very confuslnq at trmes Besrdes all of these thlngs, we had our Iunlor Play to be thrnkrng about Mrs Robrnson was our sponsor Though our struggle was hard, we frnally presented The Redheaded Royalty from Arkansas The hrghlrght of the year was the Iunror Senlor Prom and Banquet The banquet was held rn the Glen mont Cafeterra The Nashvrlle Iunrors worked wrth us, as a team, to prepare entertarnment for the Senrors from each school We declded to have the dance rn our audrtorrum It was decorated arourd the theme of Sprmo Gardens This was surely an enchanted evenrng never to be forgotten After the dance, a movie was shown at the Loudonvrlle Theater We enloyed breakfast, the next mornrng at the Nashvllle Cafeterla Mr Proper and Mr Bash were our chaperons, from Glenmont, who went to the movle wrth us Gee' I ll bet they felt l1ke teen agers sittrng 1n the theater, holding the1r wives hands untll way rn the late hours Don t you thlnk we should have felt ashamed askrng them to stay out so long 'P We also recerved our class rrngs rn our Iunror year Thls was a very excrtrng event and also an expenslve one Our class officers for thrs year were Elleen Klnsey, Presrdent, Rlchard Martrn, vlce presrdent, Barbara Scott, secretary, and Carolyn Morrrs, treasurer Margaret Nommay Carole Mellor, and Ianet Faler represented our school rn the typrng contest, whrch was held at Clark The year we have been wartrng for, our senror year, frnally arrrved Shxrley Martln was elected pres rdent, Robert Klnsey, vrce presldent, Carolyn Morrrs, secretary Ianey Faler, assrstant secretary, and Carole Mellor, treasurer There are about s1x of us that have stayed together allrtwelve years We have lost and galned sev eral along the way Some thought that marrred lrfe was much more appealrng to them, than school Some thought that they would llke to get a Job and start makrng therr own l1v1ng Even though we lost several we st1ll have a mce slze class of twelve In De ember of l956, we gave our Semor Play entltled I-Iot Ice Mrs Smlth was our sponso . 1 V 1 1 I ' ' 1 V .I u X . . 1 A f ' X .
