Class Prophecy tfonfdb I was onlv a few m1nutes arrlvlng at john Young s farm where he was having an after noon nap He got up reluctantly and showed me around the place a llttle He had crossed cherries wxth seedless ralslns to ra1se seedless cherrles He was dolng well and had get back to his plovnng I decxded to go flrst to see Sue Beverly and Elalne and stop ln to see Mr Bash on the way back Sue Barnes was marrled and llvlnw ln a cute llttle seventeen room bungalow ln Klllbuck She had tw1n gxrls who wanted to be cheerleaders but she was havlng trouble with thexr wantlng to yell red and wh1te Instead of black and gold Her two boys were playlng Indlans wh1ch had Sue almost to a frustratlon polnt I left soon because I had a long way to travel I went to Kentucky f1rst Larry Martin was a tough Sergeant ln the army at Fort Knox He became tough when he couldn t joxn the Wacs when he enllsted He decided lf he could n t be with the glrls he could at least be near the gold at Fort Knox I didn t hang around long because he was getting ready to do h1s laundry My next stop was Nashlngton D C Beverly Wilson was there She had always wanted to l1ve ln Washlngton D C slnce she played the governor s wxfe ln the junlor class play and there she was She was the Presxdent s w1fe The Preszdent of the Atomic Comlc Corporation that is She wanted me to stay for lunch so I decided to do so The hot dogs were dellclous I knew Gary Alllson would be golng on hls television show that evenlng and 1f I want tower and parachuted down to the studlo where Gary had the lead in a show playlng once a week It was called Gary Berry and Harry All Love Mary He played Mary s butler He was sensatlonal I thought It was real cute when he sa1d I have to empty the cuspxdor then set It on the floor behind the door where It don t show no more I hated to leave the show but I still had to see Elalne over ln Brooklyn Shortly after graduat1on Blame johnson had heard that the Brooklyn Bridge was being sold cheap and she had saved enough to get there and fifteen dollars besides so she went to see about 1t She couldn t find the owner of the brxdge so she got a Job at a f1ll1ng statxon changxng txres She was soon advanced to changmg oil also and 1n two years owned the station QShe marned the owner Shows you can do a lot w1th fxfteen dollars 1n Brooklyn That was my class I felt real happy but my vacat1on wasn t complete wlthout having seen Mr Bash It was August and when I ht at hls farm and haxled Mr Bash I found my self halfway up a raspberry row wlth twelve berry baskets on my arm I didn t run lnto him agam until I had reached the end of the row I explaxned that I had just dropped ln to say I-I1 and tell him where my classmates were He looked nappy and healthy and 1nc1denta1ly I made Sl Z0 plckxng raspberries I also had a b1g bowl of berr1es wlth cream and sugar I hated to leave but I knew by the txme I reached Tillamook Oregon I only had time for a good night s sleep before my vacation ended I saxd Good bye to Mr Bash and told h1m I d try to get back next year to pxck raspberrles My .facatxon proved to be the most wonderful I had ever had Marcella Dldmger . . . . . . 5. . to ,. u . . y I . , , ed to see him I had to hurry.
