Probing one ' s mind on the concept ot time and its relationship to life can be as a star is to a ship adrift on the far-flung sea. For the abstract quality of time is like the endless sea. Always the future horizon looms ahead. Uncharted reefs, oppressive storms, and pleasurable ectasties of life are all hid- den by the veil of time. Richter said, Time is the chrysalis of eternity. How true this is for us as Christian youth. Each day is a new paragraph, each week is a new page, each month is a new chapter and each year is a new book flinging wide its heart for eternity to see. What is written in this book will determine the set of our sail and destination of our life in the future. Time can be the master of a man or man can make time his servant. Not one of us in our right mind would consider throwing away our life at a sudden thrust; yet, it is not the concept of the age to manifest no concern in throwing it away by par- cels and piecemeal. A sober realization of this thought read occas- ionally through the years may stimulate the set of your sail. The set of the sail can be varied. It will depend on the influence and purposes of your life. Has the eternal goal set in your youth been al- tered by the tides and the wind of your adult life? There is a port in the distance, but a pilot must be at the helm. Whenever you read this, it is time for retrospection upon your life for time waits for no man. It is said that it is well to leave our footprints on the sands of time, but it is wise to be more cautious of our fingerprints. C. E. Watkins !m
