CLASS HISTORY In all the elementary schools we were on the top rung of the ladder, the sixth graders. We were all thinking we were the big shots . Then the crash came ! In September , 1973 , we reached the BIG high school and found ourselves at the bottom of the ladder again, little seventh graders. Seventh grade was a year that we all looked forward to , but was also a year in which everyone was afraid. The way everyone talked , the high school was a place where all the big kids got after you. But after a few weeks , I think we all realized that it wasn't as bad as everyone said it would be. In September , 1974 , we were elevated from puny seventh graders to ' 'tough' ' eighth graders. It was just about the same as last year . The only thing that we really enjoyed about the eighth grade year was that we were called to the auditorium one grade earlier. This meant we were moving closer towards the front! In September, 1975 , we entered our ninth grade year. I think we all looked forward to this year . This meant that we could choose our class colors, which were red and gold, and get our hats and sweaters. We could also elect our class officers, just like all the higher grades! Our class officers were: President, Debbie-jo Vesneskyg Vice- President, Sue Matthewsg Secretary, Frank Kruiseg Treasurer, Ginger Shawley. Our class advisors were Miss Ray- mond and Mrs. Smith. In September , 1976 , we entered the higher part of the school, the Senior High! This is the year in which we got to order our class jackets . When they came , we were prouder than peacocks to wear them. Even though it was starting to warm up outside , everyone of us still wore our jackets to show the rest of the senior high that we were now a part of them. Our class officers for this year were: President, Frank Kruiseg Vice-President, Sue Matthews, Secretary, Debby Kaye Miles, Treasurer, Deb Smith. Our class advisors were Miss Traveny and Mr. jack Burmeister. In September , 1977 , we were once again back in school. Only two more years to go ! You could tell we were moving up in the school, because we were now only about three or four rows from the front of the auditorium. This is the year we had a Christmas candy campaign and ordered our rings. We couldn ' t wait to order our rings or get them after we ordered them . Our class officers were : President , Frank Kruiseg Vice - President , Sue Matthews, Secretary, Debby Kaye Milesg Treasurer, Deb Smithg Student Council Representative , Debbi-jo Vesnesky. Our class advisors were Mrs. DeFrahn and Mr. Smith. In September, 1978 , the year we waited for had finally come ! We were at the top again . This year we will have our Christnnas and magazine campaigns. We will also get to go on our class trip. But most of all, this is the year we GRADUATE! The 1978- 1979 class officers were : President, jose ' Delermeg Vice -President , Dan Garmang Secre - tary, Tammy Irvine 5 Treasurer , Tracy Plessingerg Student Council Representative , Terry Miles. Our class advisors were Mrs. Kathleen Adams and Mr. Richard Burmeister. The years and the time spent at Glendale will always be remembered by every member of the graduating class of 1979 . Seniors , don ' t ever forget all the great times we 've had here at school. Always remember that it is through these past six years at Glendale that we have been able to make all of the friends that we wou1dn't have otherwise known.
