Having trouble Gary? Graduation, now eagerly looked forward to by the seniors, will come in May. Perhaps on that evening some senior will look over the past year and remember some ofthe class activities and work and fun that went into them, For instance, there was the January 8, dinner-dance in the gym. All of the administration members were invited, and with the class and the FL Club, which served the dinner, 'he number attending was around sixty. There was a lot of joking about confetti in the spaghetti, but everyone enjoyed themselves. Then there was the annual amateur hour. In addition to the regular divisions, a hill-billy section was added to the agenda. And finally there was this eveningg the evening of graduation, Caps and gowns are put on and a solemn file of seniors march to the stage. Most are sad, some are glad, But they lfnow a part of their life is gone when they receive their diploma and place their tas- sel on the other side of the mortarboard, 70eYZ Are you looking for something? Bebop and jitterbugging were in order during the Senior-Dinner dance. lil 4 The Evening Yearl Vol 99 Glendale Oregon May 31, 1970 Leach Rescues Wheelbarrow Johnson Claims Bride In Saves Old Maud Cat Mouse Simple Ceremony Today A courageous rescue was effected today by Hershel Leacn, Glendale volunteer fxreman Leach 1S already the holder of the frreman s gold medal award, for bravery under fue tHe went under the house to rescue a wheelbarrow from the frre too bad, though, the f1re was rn the stove Today he chmbed a ladder, broke a wlndow, and forced h.1s way through the bl1nd1ng smoke to the kltchen where he rescued an old mard, her cat he mouse 1n the cupboard, and a freshly dog, two parakeets, f1VE cananes, t baked pre from the refngerator Stevens Mosley Leave for Ubangl New York fSP6C1I-ll, Gary Ste vens, well known Journahst and sports wnter, left today for Ubangl on an expedltron W1tI'1 an old frlend J1m Mosley Mosley IS an explorer of some of the most u.n object of the exploramon by the explorer of the unexplored and the mexpenenced explorer 1S bnng back extra elephants on whrch they are experts Prmtmg Done Cheap Jeffnes Publrslung Company Sharon Jeffrres, Propnetor ' nnung done on easy terms, from szmple typewntrng to hard typewntmg, Very easy terms CASH THOMPSON RIVALS KATRINA KATRINA Chrcago Assassmated Press Ballerrna Sally Jo Thompson danced Swan Lake before an estrmated and only estnnated crowd of three thousand, not countung telev1s1on watchers Mrss Thompson s performance, accordlng to cntrcs, nvaled that of the ballenna of two centunes ago, the Russlan art1st Katnn Katrrna COMING EVENTS June June June June June June 2 3 4 5 6, l 970 Class reuruon Cow Creek Swlmmlng Hole 1970 1970 1970 1970 1970 Reunron st1ll 1n progress Reunxon st1ll gorng strong Reuruon gomg suonger We're really havmg a flmg All good thmgs must come to an end ' 1 3 9 9 I -- -- I - O . s ' ' -- - 1 . . I wouldn't have been here if it hadn't been for the many hours of hard work the co-editors, Sally Jo Thompson and Charlotte Redfield, the business managers, Gary Stevens and Jim Mosely and the entire Journalism class spent on me. I think of all the times they spent writing and rewriting copy, thinking of something to go under the pictures, cutting the pictures off, blowing them up to make them fit on the page and finding something to fill up the blank spaces. The production of this year book took much time, effort, and co-operation from the staff members who collected pictures, stories, and new ideas to make a bigger and better year book in which you could look at and remember the good old times in GHS. It wasn't all work. The staff, just a bunch of students who gladly accepted the responsibi- lities of the challenge, had many interesting and amusing hours putting this annual together.
