enchfz qfdctofzg In the fall of 1942, seven members of the senior class of 1954 boarded a school bus which would take them to Glendale Public School. Charter members were: john Gutierrez, Betse Sparks, Clifford Smith, Helen Bates, Ray Burke and Harold Tanner. At our first stop, Shorty Clayton from the state of Washington and David Smith from Roseburg joined us. We lost a few members, but gained two, Lee Mill, and Larry Hill. Our third-stop was three years later, when we lost Helen Bates. During this stop, Richard Chambers came aboard for the first time. Our fourth stop was in the sixth grade. Richard Chambers got off and Clayton Weeks from Oklahoma got on, to be with us for the next six years. At the beginning of our seventh grade, we made our fifth stop and, ofcourse, we lost a few, but gained several, including: Freeda West, Betty Ann Reasoner, Ron Rasmussen, and Helen Bates. The next year, Gordon Cox and Darrell McCaslin decided to come along on the school bus. - At our seventh stopping place, and our ninth year, our number was increased by George Byrd, Richard Chambers, Nancy Musta, and Frankie Daniels. A welcome addition to our group in the tenth year, and the eighth bus stop was Mary jane Smart from Arkansas. George Byrd got off at that stop, but prom- ised to return. Making our next-to-last stop in the eleventh year, our group was increased to the number of twenty-five by the arrival of Bobby Hale, George Byrd, Judy Taylor, Bob Phillips, and Dorothy Richardson. At our twelfth and final stop, Sharlette Ford and Stewart Johnston joined us for the last few miles. On june 3, 1954, all twenty-seven of us filed out of the bus and started an- other 'ourne into the world. kr
