Uv Y 1 X 95' gd h fi N enchfz qfdctofzg In the fall of 1942, seven members of the senior class of 1954 boarded a school bus which would take them to Glendale Public School. Charter members were: john Gutierrez, Betse Sparks, Clifford Smith, Helen Bates, Ray Burke and Harold Tanner. At our first stop, Shorty Clayton from the state of Washington and David Smith from Roseburg joined us. We lost a few members, but gained two, Lee Mill, and Larry Hill. Our third-stop was three years later, when we lost Helen Bates. During this stop, Richard Chambers came aboard for the first time. Our fourth stop was in the sixth grade. Richard Chambers got off and Clayton Weeks from Oklahoma got on, to be with us for the next six years. At the beginning of our seventh grade, we made our fifth stop and, ofcourse, we lost a few, but gained several, including: Freeda West, Betty Ann Reasoner, Ron Rasmussen, and Helen Bates. The next year, Gordon Cox and Darrell McCaslin decided to come along on the school bus. - At our seventh stopping place, and our ninth year, our number was increased by George Byrd, Richard Chambers, Nancy Musta, and Frankie Daniels. A welcome addition to our group in the tenth year, and the eighth bus stop was Mary jane Smart from Arkansas. George Byrd got off at that stop, but prom- ised to return. Making our next-to-last stop in the eleventh year, our group was increased to the number of twenty-five by the arrival of Bobby Hale, George Byrd, Judy Taylor, Bob Phillips, and Dorothy Richardson. At our twelfth and final stop, Sharlette Ford and Stewart Johnston joined us for the last few miles. On june 3, 1954, all twenty-seven of us filed out of the bus and started an- other 'ourne into the world. kr 60604 We have lost track of the class of 1954 rn the last ten years and our currosrty gettrng the best of us we go to see Madam Frfr Oca Prre who rs a crystal ball gazer In her quret and drgnrfred manner she begrns tellrng us about them and answerrng our questrons It rs amazrng how many drffer ent thrngs can happen rn a short ten year perrod She tells us that Darrell McCaslrn rs one of the courageous men strll testmg out the atomrc submarrne the Nautrlus and has been under water for srx years Government sources report the Nautrlus can stay under another frfteen years wrrhout surfacrng As we ask her about Nancy Musta she hesrtates whrle the vrsron comes clear It seems Nancy owns a dude ranch rn Texas and her husband George Byrd has become a mulrr mrllronarre smce he struck orl on hrs ranch Thrs rs a surprrse to us as we all had George frgured for a drfferent partner and Nancy seemed destrned for a busrness career She goes on to tell us that Betty Ann Reasoner marrred Jack as soon as he came home from the army They are now lrvrng rn Astabula Arkansas and are rarsrng turkeys along wrth therr srx chrldren Betty Ann never lrved rn the South before and loves rt Madam Frfx rs srlent for a moment then goes on to tell us that Frankre Danrels has now taken over all of Frankre Lane s contracts as a famous crooner It seems he made a brg hrt wrth the recordrng Hey Moe One of hrs fellow srngers Gordon Cox rs revrvrng the song Irene Goodnrght W remember how Frankre used to lrke to srng romantrc songs but are sur prrsed that Gordon took up srngrng She tells us John Gurtrerrez has grven up all hrs worldly possessrons and has become a monk rn St Mrchael s Monastery rn Ireland What a prty to take hrm out of crrculatron he was always such a lot of fun In the crystal ball an arrplane rs seen and whom does Madam Frfr recog nrze but Freeda West as the arrlrne hostess The prlot who has had many years of experrence rn the arr rs Stewart Johnston There appears to be a romantrc connectron here but the crystal ball rs not very clear on thrs matter As we ask her about Judy Taylor and Clayton Weeks she tells us she doesn t have to look rn her crystal ball She says Clayton rs the owner of the Week Crrcus whrch rs now travelrng through the South Judy rs work rng as a trapeze artrst Frfr says we would never guess who the clown of the show rs but that rt rs none other than Ron Rassmussen As we thrnk back on the days at G H S we can easrly belreve thrs ' P7 1 - 1 . - 1 1 . 4 1 .
