A student also has to be a junior or senior. The new students who are ac- cepted for the National Honor Society are inducted in the spring. Since 1952, when Glendale was grant- ed a charter, it has had an active chapter in this organization. Half time is Coke time.

Debaters represent both sides. With this topic, Resolved: That governmental subsidies should be granted according to need to high school graduates who qualify for additional training, the Glendale debate team won the District Tournament by defeating Wyoming High School. This quaiifies them for the state tournament but results of the state tourney were not available at the time of publication. The varsity won 35 debates, losing 10. The reserves won 10 and lost 5. They debated Hughes, Mother of Mercy, Purcell, St. Xavier, Walnut Hills, and Western Hills high schools in the Greater Cincinnati Speech League Entering tournament at Dayton Chaminade, they won 6 and lost 6 against Arlington, Columbus East, Dayton Oakwood, Delaware Willis, Jefferson Co-op, Marysville, Mid- dletown, and Springfield high schools.
