Better Speaking 13 Our Goal After being granted a charter for the N.F.L. in the Spring of 1954-, only four members remained for the year of 155. Following many weeks of hard work the Society was again active by the initiation of many new members This organization is actiVB in all state, district, league7 and invitational tournaments both in debate and speech contests. The organization finances all trips made by the contestants to such tournaments by presenting plays and programs throughout the year. Entering the new year with but one seasoned debator, the Glendale debate team has established a worthy rec- ord. Taking only fifth place in the Greater Cincinnati Speech League Tournaments, our debaters returned from the Middletown Tournaments with the trophy for first place in ttBS, Class schools. Their record at the time of publication was 25 wins and only 13 losses. As only one member is graduating, the debate team is awaiting the next school year with great anticipation.
