'ills Sherry Bates, finishes up her various duties final stories, pictures, and advertisements to the Working to meet deadlines, the journalism de- partment published 27 issues of the Quill and a 184 page yearbook, the Falcon. Writing and editing thousands of words, studying career opportunities, and exploring new techniques in writing enabled the students to gain a better knowl- edge of the mass media. The Quill staff was headed by Sherry Bates, editor- in-chief, with Mitchell Smith, Paula Collins, Mary McCa'llon, and Larry Buzbee serving as page editors. The Falcon staff consisted of Jana McCurdy, edi- torg Nancy Marle, associate editor, and Kathy Ded- mon, Chris Randall, Alynne Withers, and Beverly Gibson as assistant editors. A Miss Patricia Allen served as journalism instructor.
