Time was spent reflecting on the works of a series of American writers, including Emerson and Dickinson. Later in the year, modern writers, in- cluding Steinbeck and Hemingway, were studied. In senior IVL and IVC classes there was much em- phasis on analysis of literature and practice in both ex- pository and creative writing.
