The Board of Education, a six member board elected by the voters of the district, works to bring about many improvements for the Springfield educational system. In lanning for the various levels of education, the Board P first considers such factors as the number of children, the mobility of the local population, and the needs of students. The Board, aware of the forever changing Springfield population, establishes a facile educational program that involves both the nt and future needs of the students. prese Meeting a few of these needs this year, the Board authorized 'b instructional center and cafeteria the expansion of the li rary at Glendale along with the provision of additional parking space. It also provided for additional facilities at various other schools. ' ' 'l' ' ualified Because the task of providing adequate faci ities, q teachers, and a modern program of education is a big one, each member spends a great deal of time on board activities outside the regularmonthly meetings. Due to this devotion, the entire student population is benefited by the attainment of a better education. b H Mr William G. Magers-presidentg Dr. Arch Lowe, jr., Board of Education-Dr. William E.
