Each new day reflects moods A day in the life of a Glendale student is many things -meeting new ideas, greeting friends, and laugh- ing, a Day can be simple, or complex and full of tragedy. But many things are common to all. School starts early for many with early bird, morn- ing practices, or just congregating at the Soon the yellow buses begin to arrive and the parking lot fills-every group in its area. 8125! Time for class to begin. First hours are often quiet as many struggle to throw off the remains of sleep. But the day progresses and energies revive. People rush to lockers between classes, run to avoid that inevitable tardy, and share that anecdote that just won't wait another minute. For some the hour of class time seems unbearably long and goodbys are said reluctantly. What's for lunch? This popular half hour may be spent in one of several places. The cafeteria or snack bar becomes the choice of some, many of who pre- fer the alfresco atmosphere of lunch under a tree. Those more mobile eaters may select some place off campus to escape the watchful eye of the teachers. Afternoons are quiet again. The school population has diminished and things are more relaxed, almost peaceful. The library draws many who seek not only a quiet place to read, but also a chess game or even a chance to hear some music. As the clock's hand moves closer to the magic hour, thoughts turn away from books and toward the evening ahead. The school day lingers on-prac- tices, rehearsals, meetings-but slowly we wind down for a brief rest, as tomorrow comes all too soon.
