Glendale High School Students, seniors in partic- ular, found many opportunities to prepare for the future. Engaging in politics and traveling, are some ways that students learn how to be 'tomorrow's lead- ers. NAU, U of A, and ASU invited high school stu- dents to visit and tour the campus during Saturday Senior Days. On GHS College Day, speakers from the maior colleges, universities, and military instal- lations came to inform students on plans they could make. At the left, Tonni Tenuta and Linda Patterson attend one of many College Day sessions. With them is Dr. Virgil I. Gillenwater, executive vice president of Northern Arizona University. This school year began as the 1968 Presidential Election came to an end. As election day itself drew closer, Glendale High School students took part in Campaign '68. While some students worked in real campaigns, many students, particu- larly Juniors and Seniors, campaigned and held mock elec- tions in their glasses. In a Cardinal Hi-Lites newspaper pref- erence poll, the student body favored Richard M. Nixon over Vice-President Hubert Humphrey, while Governor George Wallace received a sizable amount of votes. It was evident that the school wasn't much different from the nation as a whole.
