Prepare For Take-Uff . . . The'Freshmen have succeeded in getting off the ground in their first year of high school. They used a lighter-than-air craft, a primitive, gas-filled balloon. Although this may seem to be a very elementary step in flight progress, it is this first year, and this first flight, which will guide them to seek higher ideals and goals in the years to come. The Sophomores are in a class by themselves. In their second year of high school, they have conquered their fear of heights and learned to soar into the blue with skill and confidence. Even though they have not yet reached the rocket propulsion level of upperclassmanship, they will soon abandon their propeller-operated planes and take that big step into the future tobecome the members of the jet set. The Juniors have reached the jet age and are now rapidly approaching the day when they will prepare for rocket flight. They are in a high form of flight experience and advancement, and next year they will take a leading role in our high school activities. The members of the class of 1967 are examples of the flyers who are now ready for the rocket training program of advanced learning, which the Seniors have encountered. The Seniors are preparing to blast off from the launching pad of graduation and rocket to the not-so-distant worlds of college, military service, job training, and adult responsibility. They have gone through four years of extensive training and study to prepare themselves for this, the greatest moment of their lives. They must make only their final preparations during the countdown of the few weeks left to blast-off time. The information and experience which the graduating students of 1966 have gathered during their high school career will be put to good use as they become the leaders of tomorrow's society. After their lift-off, these graduating seniors will leave the world of high school and climb to the stars of future life. Countdown: 10, 9, 8 ,... 24
