Two hundred and twenty-eight freshmen entered Glen- brook in September of l954. Each student was an individual having a distinct personality. As a class, however, we were to be one-planning together, working together, and enjoying together the various proiects we would be en- countering in the next four years .... Initiation gave us recognition of being a part of Glenbrook, and we soon found ourselves in the stride of things by electing our first class officers: Jim Paxton, Dave Lyons, Sue Allison, and Lewis Krieger. The success of the Frosh Party paved the way for future work. The sophomore year found us busy at campaigning for offices, planning the class party, and selling popcorn at football and basketball games. Larry Deering, Doug Tim- merman, Jan Laidley, and AI Huck were chosen to lead the class. Outstanding personalities in music, speech, lead- ership, and athletics began to be recognized. However, no year can surpass our iunior year in excite- ment. Work and fun were the element which made it most successful. Electing Jim Lass, Dave Patterson, Bill Russell, and Linda Day as class officers was an outstanding feature, for who could forget that close run-off for positions? There were many activities of the year, such as purchasing our class rings, working in the concessions and preparing for the Prom. Perhaps the two most significant proiects were planning for our first foreign exchange student, and com- bining our funds with the seniors in giving a united class gift-a false ceiling. Certainly everyone will remember that year and the combined efforts which made it most unforgettable. As seniors now, responsibility is the key to class activities. Many members of our class are active in various functions and will always be remembered for their out- standing work and spirit. Sponsoring the Christmas Formal, Snow BaIl, was our last big project, for after that we all possessed the thought, the thrill, and the tension of graduation. Our group can be distinguished in two ways. For example, we were the first class to have a foreign exchange student, and we also had the first feminine president of the Student Council. Leaving Glenbrook, each one of us will separately choose our field. We will not, though, leave behind the spirit we gained, for the memory of the four years spent at Glenbrook will follow us forever .... .-.i SNS . ii 'Y 'l i ' wvwsuqg- x Nix Q .- f W-'-s.
