The building, the people, the experiences were all new. Even before the opening day of school, the first freshmen had helped to lay the foundations for the present student govern- ment by work on summer Student Council. During the first year, two of the members of the class designed the school flag and wrote the words to '6Glenbrook's Loy- alty Song. The freshman athletic teams showed that they had what it takes to win, overcoming the many difficulties that arose. The class held its first party, one that will never be forgotten. The sophomore year of the Class of '57 was equally productive. The athletic teams surpassed all expecta- tions. More people entered into school activities. chairman. Page 26 The junior year activities centered around concessions and the prom. The boys again did well in athletics, help-A ing to take four conference championships. The class as a whole took over the many new responsibilities that come with being upper-classmen. Many members re- newed their efforts in music and speech, and they were rewarded by state recognition. The class helped sponsor a National Honor Society. Now as seniors, the class is being led by Dick Crip- pen, Barbie Carson, Carolyn Eidinger, and Tricia John- son. The Senior Dance, Evergreen Enchantmentf, was the last big project of the members. Through the four years, they have given much to Glenbrook. They have also received much. The class consists of scholars, athletes, and workers as many classes in high school do, but they have surpassed the other groups before them in their spirit and closeness to Glenbrook.
