What A Season! The 1982-85 football season was the most exciting and successful season in the history of Glenbard North. The Panthers ended the season with an 11-1 record and rec- ognized as one of the top four 6-A teams in the state. The Panthers earned the right to play in the state playoffs by going unbeaten in the DuPage Valley Conference. After winnning their first two games in the playoffs, the Pan- thers lost a close game to Reavis, the eventual state cham- pion. This was a tremendous year for our entire program. The sophomore team won the conference championship, and our freshmen teams both had successful seasons. The accomplishments this season were the result of a team effort, but there were many outstanding individual efforts. Tony Lisbon capped a 3 year varsity career by being named to several All-State and All-Area teams. He was also the honorary captain of the All-Conference of- fensive team, as well as being selected as the teams Most Valuable Player. Other players selected on the All-Con- ference team included jeff Laschinski, Chris Ratliff, Dave Slinkman, Tony Savegnago, Mike Lotz, and Steve Cherry. Receiving special mention honors were Steve Polcinski, Mard Kedziora, and jim Killeen. Darren Howanitz, Mark Hrgich, Mike Bradle, Mike Gilbert, Art Paschke, and Erik Pedersen all received honorable mention recog- nition. FOOTBALL 91
