Because of his genuine interest in young people and his understanding of their problems, he has become an unoflicial counselor to many troubled stu- dents. Therefore the senior class dedicates the 1949 PINNACLE to Mr. Arthur Repke.

What he is, is the result of his own effort plus all of the influences which play upon him. Every high school is different from all others. Each has its own history, tradition, and reputation. These are determined by what student bodies do with all of the opportunities which open to them. Glenbard is what you have made her and will be what the students of the future want her to be. Your competition in all fields, both on the field or court and on the sidelines, your academ- ic achievement and all else that you do are what people think of when they say 'iGlenbardv. As you enjoy this edition of the Pinnacle, I sincerely hope you will be proud of the part you have had in the year of activity which it portrays. Nlay you always be as proud of Glenbard as I am as I write this word of greeting. jl Q6! OZ? MQJQI' Locks on backward, measles cases, salesmen trying to see Mr. Biester, lost and found articles, people with pink and yellow passes, and requests for keys, bulletins, and information are all in the day of a member of the office staff. Also Mr. Clenbard, who is always willing to talk to any- one with a problem, can sometimes be found in this inner-sanctum. Dorothy Wagner, who has the endless job of handling the finances of the school and the clubs, Elaine Bauler, who keeps the records on the 1150 odd students, and Freda Lundberg, who replaced Mrs. McConnaughay as personal secretary to Mr. Biester and the school board, comprise the office staff. In room 310 the official demerit-giver reigns over a pile of pink passes. Miss McLean has the simple job of keeping the students from breaking the school l'lllGS.
