Soccer gained much popularity and respect. However, little did participants realize that this sport would become a most successful event. Valuable experience and teamwork was the maior goal of our non-stop Soccer team. Good soccer can not be played by o team of individuals. It is a team sport and a team effort. The Wild- cats played with all the skill and deter- mination they had, led by starters Leo Mercado, Gus Lua, Hugo Mercado, and Don McCoy. The team displayed good sportsmanship and fine talent. Wilson proved to be the top team in the league. The season was capped off by a close loss to La Puente. The Wildcats tied for first in the league with Glen- dora and La Puente, to give way to Wil- son in CIF Competition.
