Thank God I 'm Leading up to the Sadie Hawkins was Sadie Week. A variety of activities occurred during both lunches every day. To head the week boys were given ribbons which did not allow them to talk to girls the whole day, those who did, lost their ribbon. Teresa Schmidt won the contest tallying up 1 14 ribbons. Next Joe Pulice and Chris Baker really had it out when they chug-a- lugged four mugs of root-beer with Joe Pulice finishing first. The slave auction was a big success auctioning off students starting at 504 a bid. To cap off the events was the Kiss-the-Pig contest in which the student and teacher with the most amount of money collected had to kiss a real live pig. Mr. Bacon and Pam Campbell were awarded the kiss, with Mr. Martin and Michelle Rubin runners up. Do you Daisey May take Lil' Abner to be your lawfully wedded husband? This was a popular line as many couples eloped at the Sadie Hawkins. Reverend Lee Fair and Co-Reverend Scott Massy conducted ceremonies, bestowed couples with marriage certificate, rings, and bouquets of flowers. Mixed Blood and Soft Brandy provided the necessary foot-stompin' music during the three hour dance on March l 1 at 8:00-1 1 :30. The local deputies were busy arresting people for one cent and bailing them out for two. The way to a man's heart is through his stomach, and that could be provided by sighting the many students surrounding Ma Kettles home-made vittels. The next best thing to the cookin' and kitchen was the Kissin' Patch, a popular area for the newlyweds. For the happy couples a photographer was on hand to capture a quick pose of the memorable evening. MIXED BLOOD, the second band to play at the Sadie that night, gets the whole dance moving. PAM CAMPBELL looks more afraid than the pig. THE PHOTOGRAPHER is waiting, guys. Opposite Page: THE LEAD singer of Mixed Blood mixed with the dancers. MR. BACON caught in a tender moment during the Sadie's rally. .IANA NELSON having a good time waiting for the next dance. . . . AND HERE is some more people having a GREAT time in the Kissing Patch. SOFT BRANDY brings the dancers more mellow music. 26 Sadie Hawkins A Countr Bo f'f-5 -Xin 'fffrff I
