Soccer Scores This year Soccer became a reality at Wilson High School. With 50 boys playing on both the Varsity and J.V. teams, it has become the largest program of Soccer in the valley. This year's team was very young with only 2 seniors on the starting team. Hustle and a good attitude were the two items that went into this team in order to come in third place in the Sierra League. M.V.P. of this year's team was Jr. Captain Leo Mercado who played both halfback and fullback. Most improved player went to senior fullback Greg McKie. Leading scorer was sophomore forward Gus Lua with I2 goals for the season. Leo Mercado and Gus Lua were named to first team all Sierra League while Greg McKie and Kyong Ho Suh received second team all League Honors. This year's J.V. team finished second in the league which is a fine showing for this first year team. M.V.P. was Eddie Torrez and most improved was Faustino Ramirez. Leading scorer for the J.V. team was Peter Mora with 5 goals.
